Back Home Again..................

Yes, we are home from our 2000 mile round trip journey from Indiana to Florida. The past 3 weeks just flew by as we tried out a new campground, explored a National Forest, checked out Jacksonville and then returned to see the Eagles at Pat Thomas Park where we stayed for the last part of our trip.

The drive down and back was trouble free, we broke the drive up by staying at a COE campground close to Montgomery Al. on the way down and a small private campground in Athens Al. on the way home. We tried out a new campground that was closer to my daughters house for a week, the only problem with this campground it was to close to I-10 and the big trucks speeding by made it difficult to get any sleep for my light sleeping wife. We left there to head to the Ocala National Forest for a few nights at Salt Springs, what a nice place with FHU, level sites and the clearest spring water I have ever seen. Are site at Pat Thomas was waiting for us when we headed back to Tallassee area. This small county park received lots of trees down from hurricane Mike last fall, but all was cleaned up and park is still very peaceful.

We got to spend time with our granddaughter and her family, she is growing up to be a very smart and beautiful young lady. She stayed one night with us in the motorhome and enjoyed being outside. The trips to Applachacola and Jacksonville where fun and informative. Jacksonville has a few history sites that are well preserved and give the visitors a slice of how life was long before Florida statehood.

I have already booked spots for next year. St George Island state park is on our bucket list and every time we try to stay there a hurricane comes thru and closes the park for a few months, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for next year.
