We headed further south to the city that never sleeps New Orleans for Madi Gras we spent several days in the city that knows how to throw a party. We had tickets to view a parade on St. Charles St. of course you don't need a ticket to see the parades, but with the tickets comes along the use of a clean and private porta potty which if you have ever been in large crowds you know how gross these are after a few hundred people use them enough said about that . We where showered with tons of beads that where thrown from the floats, it was money well spent and the only way to see the parades in my opinion . We stayed at Bayou Segnette State Park on the west bank, we took the ferry into the city and had a very easy walk into the French Quarter. The park was full but very quite they even had free laundry for the campers.
From there we headed over to Penscola, Fl to check out the Navel Air Museum, We stayed at the Big Lagoon State Park that was just minutes away from the museum. The navel base is the summer home of the Blue Angles and when they are in town your allowed to go out on the flight line to watch them practice all for free.
Back on I-10 and heading east to see our new granddaughter in Tallahassee. We are staying in one of our favorite places Pat Thomas Park for a few days then down to Christal
River to see some manatees. We are staying at Potts Preserve in Inverness, Fl. its a free boondocking site offered by the southwest Florida water management district. It is a very nice park with tall pines and very private. After out stay there we headed back to Pat Thomas to end up our stay.
The month went fast and we had a great time. Now we head back home until the next trip.
