FMCA Indianapolis 2017.
FMCA held their 2017 International rally right in our backyard in July, we decided to just make it a day trip instead of spending 4 nights on the grounds of the Indiana State fairgrounds. My wife, myself and 2 grandkids and son decided to spend the day looking over a numerous amount of exhibits and motorhomes. We even had handmade PBJ for our lunch thanks to Sarah(sons wife).
For a $25 family pass we could spend all day on the grounds and tour the motorhomes and exhibits. We have been to the Tampa RV show and their is really no comparison to the Tamps show it is HUGE, But with every manufacture of Class A and over 1500 Class A's in attendance it has the feel of a large RV rally and show. I would have liked to see more vendors, but we where there to look at the new Motorhomes.
Newmar had on display a new model the 2018 NEWAIRE and other 2018 from their line up. The Newaire was loaded with lots of options and at 34 feet will be a good seller for them , but at $400,000 price point that's a lot more than I'm willing to spend. I met Matt Miller the CEO of Newmar and was able to talk with him for a few minutes about our Canyon Star, saw a few sales members from Mt. Comfort RV. We wanted to see and test the new bunk couch that Newmar has an a option now. The grandkids loved it.
Provost had several units on display, we found ourselves going over the buses and shaking our heads that some of these options could be put into a motorhome, the cargo bays where neat and big enough to live in. For the price they sell for($1 MILLION plus) I guess you can do just about anything to the chassis and interiors.
Our day pass did not allow us to attend any meetings or seminars, but we did get to go to the ice cream social and since we had 2 small kids with us the volunteers seamed to give us extra ice cream and toppings. They had free shuttles to ride over the grounds where we where able to see most of the motorhomes at the rally. It was great to see fairgrounds filled with RV's from all around the USA. All in all it was a great day.
